Reliving all the feels and depression but in HD is really painful.. T-T

I really like how they introduce Rhodes Island by showing all the facilities that we can build in-game with a crowd made of playable operators (most of them being 1* to 4*, must be a newbie ¬‿¬) and some random people, it really emphasizes how Rhodes Island is not empty because that's how it feels like in-game as they can only show few sprite on the screen.

Plus, the kettle made its appearance !!!

well,,,, that's one hell of a way to go out, RIP Ace. im still not ready to saw this again especially on visual format, y'all non players may not know how much Ace is such bro just from 3 eps, so were we the players back then in the game, but then it is in the future event we know how he and Scout were a long friend before Doc got into the Sarco.

honestly tho damnn the anime really a great job on explaining all the basic important trivia like what's Catastrophe and how Originium existed in such a brief way, and also how RI operates itself and move from city to city (AND FCKK YEAH THERE'S SO MANY OPS SHOWN IN THIS EPS WHOOOO!!). they did it perfectly especially on potraying the scale of RI, and next eps we will definitely see it got compared side by side with Lungmen.

and some of you know must have sensed the layers in this when Doc questions why does Chernobog didn't move itself when they know a Catastrophe is coming? (they can detect even tho it's not precise and real time). the plot just gonna get 5 folds from just Infected vs Government or RI vs Reunion. and next episode we are going to Lungmen! think of it as HK in our world, it's such a powerhouse too in Terra economy. but it's still part of Great Yan

in this and last episode you will have now know in quite the full picture of what Reunion, atleast it's members driving force, pure hatred. since most of them are from Ursus then imma shed a little of the Empire treatment to them.

Ursus, the great Empire of the north and the biggest when talking about their land size and perhaps military size. they had lasted for 1000 yrs, certainly a long one in numbers but they're nowhere near the oldest nation in Terra. Ursus are the 2nd if not the harshest place for Infected to live in, and it's for 2 reason, first there's a gestapo like police called the border guards (correct me if I'm wrong on the name) which will hunt them down village by village block by block, on daily basis., second you either will die executed when found or sent to the tundra as forced labor.

the 2nd place is Leithanian which will not be touched any time soon in the anime but spoiler for those who wanted to know : they used Infected as a living "staff" for their casters, bcs Infected has Originium in their body

Talulah, she's of a Draco race an almost extinct one. do all Draco had that fire power? maybe, maybe not. but in the game it's even more intense than this, Nearl armor all but melted down she almost desperately rush over to Talulah to buy any second for Amiya and Doc to escape, it was really a chaos. Nearl is by no mean weak at all, she's one of the strongest knight of Kazimierz, but Talulah flame is just too powerful. in the game they described it as a colorless heatwave that burns all without warning, maybe it's gonna be way harder to draw the falme colorless.

we also met W!! she's truly an enigma, a menace too. she and her team are a Sarkaz ('devil' ppl, the most hated and persecuted race in Terra) mercenaries helping Reunion for a proper 'war' efforts bcs in the end they're still just civilians that armed themselves. as mentioned W got such unique thread of connection to Doc and Amiya past, spoiler spoiler and huge one at it ask me if you want. she's definitely one of the best character too in the game.

Crownslayer, our Reunion assassin of Lupo race (wolf ppl), her throat actually is an infected organ which could emit that 'mist' she uses and that's also an Arts. she got a deep and hatred history with the Sarcophagus and someone that Doc and Amiya knew which we will soon meet, Kal'tsit, what a godly beautiful name.

and Faust? a Phytia race (snake ppl) sniper, that uses crossbow, yes crossbow not some 50 BMG. his arts actually have in hand on it but also in camouflage. he's a childhood friend of Mephisto and got Infected at near same time iirc. not much to shed on him now

and ofc Mephisto, our boi of a Liberi race (bird ppl). crazy actually wouldn't even begin to describe him, what he had done in the city is so fcked up which sadly the anime might not cover, it is quite the blow as spoiler too so im only going to tell you if you asked me not writing here and covering it in spoiler. his Arts got to do with healing and control, which you will see when you pay attention to his men.

Is Draco race really extincted?? But there is good amount of dracos in game! I'm wrong?!

Draco are a nearly extinct race, but the Vouviere and Lung aren't. the only Draco we kinda interact in the game are Talulah, Talulah's father (though only in flashbacks), Reed and Reed's sister. They're referencing Western Dragons, as opposed to Lung who're referring to Eastern Dragons and Vouviere, who are wyverns.

yep! Bagpipe and Saileach are Vouviere. they're like..."descendants" of the Draco since they're both in the same power level lorewise but the Draco are more Arts attuned to Vouviere's physical prowess. Just like how Lung are just super watered down versions of the Original Dragon, "Sui", who have fragmented into pieces, which we know 3, Nian, Dusk, and Ling.

nope, the only playable Draco is Reed. and only two npc that's still alive which is Talulah and Reed sister. the rest of western dragon like ppl are from Vouivre race

alright! spoiler alert and this a very heavy one, it would put so much layers in the plot you've known so far

Doc, Amiya, Ace, Scout (another elite ops and Doc buddy with Ace before Doc got into a comma), Kal'tsit (Dr that got mentioned in the end of the eps), W and many other RI elites were once from a faction of a civil war in Kazdel, the nation of Sarkaz ('devil' ppl, the most persecuted race in Terra, devil here is a slur so demon like ppl maybe more appropriate). back then their only focus is to win the war and make a reform to nation so that the Sarkaz can rebuild their home after hundreds of yrs being invaded and destroyed by all of their surroundings (Empire of Ursus, Leithanian, Victorian Empire, Laterano, Gaul and Kazimierz iirc).

in that civil war they're all of the same side and of an organization that predates RI, called Babel. long story short, Babel abruptly fall after holding an equal position in the war, unexpected results and Doc got heavily injured in that fall. thus why Doc were put into the Sarcophagus, an ancient tech that could 'revert back the user to it's original state' but seemingly only Doc race can get the positive effect of it, Doc race is still unknown. but no, there's NO homosapiens in Terra so Doc is not one of us

Small correction(as far as i remember)

Kal Sit never said it was build for the "Doctors race" but "the Sacrophagus was build withouth Originium in mind"
Aka all animal species in Terra besides the God-kin/Eldritch Monsters have Originium in their blood. (We know this due the Operator files where everyones bloodtest is shown Infected & Non-Infected)
We know there are no "current" species/homo sapiens on Terra tho intersting side note the people of Terra call themselves "human". Also a point of reference regarding the topic: We have a unknown ancient civilasation called "The Ancients" & another unknown species called "The Elders". From what we vaguely know these 2 factions/species fought each other. Ancients came out on top apparently but due unknown factors they also perished at some point & only their tech/machines are left behind known as Artifacts. (That ranges from vending machines, to weapons, to spaceships)
So "humans" as in homo sapiens could have lived on Terra in the past. But the current species just look "humanoid".

i think what the Elders refer to are the "mythological" of the existing races. like Hellagur (Hippogryph) to all Liberi (Bird people) or Nearl, Blemishine, Whishlash, and Platinum (Pegasus) to all Kuranta etc.

The whole Ancients/Elder thing and the Ancients ultimate demise is like 10k+ past. (Oldest accounts we have is from Walk in the Dust who roughlgy goes back 2000+ish years by commenting on the old citynation & "remembering a woman like Kal Sit" & there it was still just middle age level desert land with weird Ritual Magics/Curses) Trying to pintpoint the Ancients timeline exactly is really hard. We just get tons of vague fragments/claims & all over the place references to other past nations like Ghaul who got destroyed etc but are still in recent memories.

I am not sure if Elders also refers to things like Hellagur, etc. From my understanding only the pure animal birds like our Rapper Penguin or the tucanesque bird in Sargon/Jungel event with Gravel. Are Elders because they are literally Immortal. I believe the Fernamut/eldritch pop band even called the bird an Elder

Regarding Pengiuin Logistics.If you catch on the whole thing about the shittons of assasination attempts on our Badass Penguin Rapper Icon Emporer who to quote Excusai: "Once literally took the full brunt of a explosion on and it didnt leave a scratch besides his clothes burning away." All these pure bird related animal seem to be fully immortal/resistant to majority of weapons & are ageless.

Doc allegedly 'killed', indirectly most likely their faction leader which are also Doc and Kal'tsit very close comrade and friend, Theresia, which then Babel fall apart like dominoes. only Doc and Kal'tsit know the full secrets, and Kal'tsit still hate Doc for that. she's the one that made RI but also one of some ppl that voted against to bring back Doc from the Sarco. and ofc Doc forgot all about that

W is one of mercenaries working under rhodes island in the past when it called babel and lead by different leader called theresia. amiya to small to remember her and some of the old member who know W die in chernebog like ace and scout

oh yeah one thing they did miss in this episode, maybe the run time didn't let them. that they actually fought W in the game after they escaped Talulah. She didn't let then go here like that so easily.

and her team destroyed RI recon team before meeting Doc and Amiya team.

this line should be here in the anime, what a missed opportunity of sassiness and gut wrenching throw from W. so yeah 2 team got destroyed, Ace and the recon team. what a phyrric victory it is just to bring home someone they never knew before and now got an amnesia, is it really worth it? W is supposed to remind them that in this episode

Yeah, I remember at the start of the game story I felt so bad for them. Like you said, two whole squads got wiped out just to save you, the Player, believing your knowledge will either help them find a cure or at least make some progress in the research of it. And then they got you, amnesiac, not knowing anything about the world, betraying everybody’s expectations. Fortunately, you preserved your skill as a tactical genius. If not, just imagine all the hate you will get from the characters since basically they just exchanged the lives of two of the best teams they got for a random average guy they don’t even know.

that's why i said the eps 1 could be considered as a masterpiece, all that despair and tense emotion that carried by the atmosphere without any background sound, the expression and how they played with shot angle. it capture that feeling perfectly, why tf do we waste our lives for this random person???

Right, I was so surprised by this anime adaptation quality that I almost cried when the first episode came out. Since a lot of game adapted into anime just do the strict minimum, just thinking my money went into this makes me emotional. Same with FGO, that time I literally cried 😂.

as for the next episode, RI will have to go to Lungmen for trading/replenishing their supply and begin their cooperation with the LGD (Lungmen Guard Department) to help the infected (that's for RI only tho) and also to deal with Reunion looming threat, especially the refugee from Chernobog that seek asylum in Lungmen. from there RI will have to works many jobs for LGD and Lungmen just to have their help in this problems. we will also get some help from multiple third-party firm in Lungmen which are the Penguin Logistics and BSW (Black Steel World, a private military firm)

I didn't expect Catastrophes also include meteor showers. This episode manages to explain how Skyfire can summon literal meteors

the first PV with Starset Monster included the meteor shower, tho not clearly stated as Catastrophe back then. but the game does said it
